Still Me: Then & Now

Privacy policy

Last updated 27 October 2026

Still Me keeps your selfies in your own private diary. In versions with Apple Health controls, connecting Health lets the app show wellbeing and fitness context beside a selfie without storing Health readings. A separate optional AI choice can send only coarse trend labels when you agree and tap Ask; it never sends a selfie, a raw Health reading or an exact value. Still Me AI's other optional diary features are described below.

1. Who is responsible

Big Helpers Software and Solutions Private Limited provides the Still Me application and is responsible for this policy. Privacy questions may be sent to admin@bighelpers.in.

2. What Still Me stores, and where

On your device, and synced to your own private iCloud database when iCloud is available — storage that belongs to your Apple Account and that we cannot read:

  • your selfies, and the aligned thumbnails made from them;
  • the date and time of each one, and the time zone you were in;
  • any note you write on a day, and whether you marked it a favourite;
  • your reminder time, your day boundary and your streak target;
  • the alignment and quality values measured from each photograph, which travel with it; and
  • the record of which days you rated against which.

On your device only, and never synced anywhere:

  • the face readings Still Me computes from a selfie so it can line your eyes up between days;
  • one summary of each day's background, with the person masked out of the frame, used only to find the day a picture came from;
  • your taste scores, which are recomputed from your own ratings rather than stored as a judgement;
  • how you marked your days;
  • your voice check-ins: the line you said with a photo, how it sounded, and the six-second clip if you chose to keep it;
  • the views from your weekly scan;
  • how bright each kept photograph was, and when you shared something from Still Me; and
  • the Still Me AI Activity list described below.

3. Still Me AI (optional)

Still Me AI is optional and off by default. Its features send only the feature-specific content described below when you ask, including the two separately enabled automatic choices described here. Big Helpers Software and Solutions Private Limited operates the app relay and self-hosted Big Helpers AI used to answer these requests. This policy does not make a zero-retention guarantee for the complete processing stack.

When something is sent. Only when you ask: you tap a button that says it sends, or you turn on one of the two switches that send for you (Weekly story, and Cards after each note). With Weekly story on, the week's notes are sent once, the first time you open Still Me after Sunday evening; Cards after each note sends when you save a note. Apart from those two switches, nothing is sent when the app opens, on a timer you did not set, or from a widget or Siri. While your diary is locked, nothing is sent at all.

What can be sent, per feature. Only what that feature needs:

  • Cards: the note you wrote, and the names of your note topics with how often they come up.
  • Ask: your question, and the notes the app found for it on your device, with their dates and any place name saved with those days.
  • Weekly story: the week's notes, with their dates.
  • Letters: the notes you pick, and the date the letter is to open.
  • Captions: last week's notes, as text only.
  • Voice suggestions: the line you spoke with today's photo, the day's note, and the two words that describe how you sounded.
  • Style ideas: up to three views from your weekly scan, sent when you tap Send. The answer is about style only, not a judgement of your face.
  • Voice notes: the recording of a longer voice note, sent to be written out when you tap Done.
  • Collage titles: the dates in the collage.
  • Translation: the text you asked to have translated.

How you marked your diary days is never sent. A logged mood trend from Apple Health can be sent only through the separate Health AI choice described next. Face views, voice suggestions and voice notes are available only to people who confirm they are 13 or over.

Apple Health context and Health AI. In versions with Apple Health controls, and with your Health permission, Still Me reads sleep, logged mood, blood oxygen, resting heart rate, respiratory rate, exercise time, daylight time, steps, active energy and workouts that were recorded before a selected selfie. It compares some measurements with your own recent days. Raw Health readings stay in memory while the selfie is open; they are not added to your diary, iCloud, exports or analytics. If you separately consent in selfie details and tap Ask with Still Me AI on, Still Me sends only available coarse trend labels such as a recent recorded workout, logged mood compared with your usual, and sleep duration, steps or respiratory rate compared with your usual. No selfie, diary note, exact reading, date or name is sent. A separate Big Helpers Health AI relay passes those labels to self-hosted Big Helpers AI, which selects up to three of the submitted labels for this wellbeing feature. Still Me displays fixed, checked wording for those selections. It does not offer a diagnosis or a claim that a reading is safe. You can stop future Health AI sends in selfie details, turn off Still Me AI or hide Apple Health insights in Settings. Hiding insights does not revoke iOS Health permission; manage that in iOS Health settings.

Where it goes. Chosen content is sent over HTTPS to Big Helpers' Still Me AI relay and the AI service that answers it. Requests from supported devices also carry a per-install App Attest key identifier and an assertion covering the request body. The relay retains that key's public part, attestation record, attestation time and replay counter so it can recognize later requests from the same installation. The absence of a named account does not make these requests anonymous or unlinked to a device. The relay's technical log records request time, operation kind, status, elapsed milliseconds and a technical reason when present; it does not include the request or answer body. Standard hosting access logs also record network address and request time.

Checking it is really Still Me. On supported devices, App Attest checks that requests come from a genuine copy of Still Me. The private key remains on the device. Big Helpers retains the corresponding server-side verification record described above. No automatic expiry for those key records or the monthly technical log files is established by the current service. Rate-limit records use hourly buckets and a hash of the network address; older buckets are removed on later requests. These housekeeping operations are not a guaranteed timed erasure. Turning Still Me AI off or deleting the app does not itself delete server-side key records, hosting logs or other retained processing records.

What comes back. The answer is checked by the app before it is shown. Answers you choose to keep, such as cards, letters and stories, are saved on your device.

Seeing and stopping it. Every send is listed on your device under Settings › Still Me AI › Activity: what kind, when, and how much, never the content. Turning Still Me AI off in Settings stops every send. Delete Everything also removes the Activity list.

4. What Still Me never does

  • With Still Me AI off, it never sends your photos, notes, ratings or scores to Big Helpers or to any server we operate. With it on, only the content and request records described in section 3 are sent. Big Helpers retains the verification and operational records described there. Apple may sync the private iCloud diary records described above.
  • It has no account and asks for no email address, name or phone number.
  • It contains no analytics, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.
  • It does not record where you are. This version never asks for your location and never reads it.
  • It does not read your photo library. It only ever adds to it, and only when you choose to save something.

5. The camera

Still Me uses the front camera to take one selfie a day. You always see a preview before anything is saved — the app cannot photograph you without showing you first, and every way of starting a capture opens the same screen with a countdown.

6. Face analysis

Still Me measures faces so that one day can be lined up with the next. That work happens entirely on your device, using Apple's on-device frameworks, and the readings are stored only on the device.

When Still Me describes a change between two days, it is limited to hair, facial hair, glasses, headwear and whether you were smiling. It does not assess health, and it is built so that it cannot: the description is generated into a fixed set of fields with nothing else in it, and a separate check rejects any wording outside that set before you see it. Deleting your data removes these readings along with the photographs.

Still Me AI's style ideas are separate from this, and happen only as described in section 3.

7. Your voice

Still Me uses the microphone only while the mic shows on screen: for the voice check-in as you take a photo, or for a caption you speak. The words, and how you sounded, are worked out on your device. A check-in clip is kept on your device only if you turn that on. Still Me itself sends a recording off the device only for a longer voice note you send to Still Me AI, as described in section 3. Exports you make yourself are covered in section 11.

8. Finding a day from a picture

From version 1.1 you can point Visual Intelligence at a picture and ask Still Me which day it came from. So that this works without sending anything anywhere, Still Me keeps one summary of each day's background. The person is masked out of the frame before the summary is made, so it describes the setting and not a face.

The summary is a set of numbers rather than words: it contains no description, it is never displayed to you or to anyone else, and it cannot be turned back into a photograph. Summaries are computed on your device, stored only on your device, never synced, never sent to Still Me AI, and erased by Delete Everything along with the photographs. The picture you point Visual Intelligence at is held in memory for the length of the search and is never stored.

If you have turned the Face ID diary lock on, picture search returns nothing at all. Because the comparison is of backgrounds, Still Me can say that two days look like the same place; it does not tell you, or anyone else, who is in a picture.

9. Reminders

Reminders are scheduled on your device by iOS itself. There is no push server of ours, and no message about you leaves the device. Still Me can also show a countdown on your Lock Screen during your capture window; it never puts a photograph there.

10. iCloud

Your diary syncs through your own iCloud private database, so it reaches your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account. That storage is yours, governed by Apple's terms, and is not readable by us. Turning off iCloud stops ongoing sync; it is not a request to delete records already stored in iCloud.

11. Export and deletion

Both of these are in the app, under Where is my data?:

  • Export everything — one archive with every photograph, note and date, your voice lines and clips, and your scans.
  • Delete everything — deletes the local records, including face readings, taste scores and the Still Me AI Activity list, and saves the deletion of the synced diary records so that CloudKit propagates it to your private iCloud database when sync is available. It cannot be undone, so export first if you want a copy.

Big Helpers cannot retrieve your private iCloud diary or local-only records for you. Deleting everything in the app removes the local records and queues deletion of the synced diary records as described above; it does not itself erase server-side verification records, technical logs or hosting access logs. For a privacy or deletion request about those retained records, contact admin@bighelpers.in. Do not send private keys, app tokens, passwords or recovery codes. We will explain what information is needed to assess the request without asking for those secrets.

12. Children, advertising and analytics

Still Me is not directed to children. Still Me AI's face, voice and voice-note features are available only to people who confirm they are 13 or over. Still Me contains no advertising SDK, no behavioural advertising and no analytics SDK. Big Helpers does not create advertising profiles from Still Me use. Optional AI processing and retained verification and operational records are described in section 3; these records are not used for advertising or cross-company tracking.

13. Permanently free access

Still Me and all its features are permanently free, without subscriptions, paid upgrades or trials. Access does not depend on a purchase, earned free days or a subscription expiry date. Optional AI still requires your consent and remains subject to technical availability and request limits.

Your diary, photographs, notes and exports remain yours. Existing purchase records are not rewritten by free access. If you have an earlier Apple subscription, Apple handles its payment history and cancellation; Big Helpers does not receive your card details or Apple Account information.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Still Me's features or legal obligations change. The date above identifies the current version. A material change to how the app handles data will be reflected here before the corresponding app release.
